Addressing the Corrosion Crisis⚠️: The Urgent Need for Sustainable Solutions

A Call for Sustainable Solutions: Tackling the Global Corrosion Crisis with Innovation and Environmental Responsibility

While trillions are lost in corrosion-related activity, many billions are made by paint majors in packaging solutions that just do not work.💰 User industries—who should rather focus on manufacturing—are compelled to invest in evaluating these products. The irony is people in user industries, who are ill-equipped to decipher the root causes of failure in their specific environments, are called upon to decide the merits of protective coatings offered by paint majors. The situation is deplorable and self-perpetuating. ⚠️

One must realize that corrosion—and the problems associated with it—is here to stay and will multiply in the years to come as industrial pollution rises. 🌡️ Increasing reliance on fossil fuel for energy inputs in all manufacturing activities implies unchecked harmful emissions, especially of CO2 and sulfurous products, which wreak havoc on structural steel. 🏭

The developed world at the top of supply chains can afford to abandon some environmentally degrading manufacturing practices like hot dip galvanizing but will still need HDG steel for their cars and infrastructure! 🚗 Hence, “innovative” products, howsoever perilously manufactured in developing economies, will always thrive. Besides, as more such value-added products abound, they will require special protection with pre-treatments.

Clearly, the need of the hour is to find appropriate solutions for protecting vital infrastructure and lives threatened by this all-pervasive phenomenon. 🏗️💡 A holistic approach drawing from metallurgy and material science, chemical engineering, and electrochemistry, while paying due regard to the conservation of the environment, will best serve to address this problem. 🌱🔬

At Metguard, we take immense pride in offering a solution that may just be the answer! Stay tuned for more. 🌟
