BASE COAT

These are direct to metal coatings applied to DFT of 30 to 80 micrometres and are formulated for a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and their alloys. Uniqueness of these polymeric coatings stems from their ability to inhibit the onset and propagation of corrosion by creating a

completely passive coating-metal interface. In this process any oxides, if originally present at the interface, become incorporated in the coating to protect active metal thereby suppressing its tendency to “lose” itself under hostile environmental exposure. The polymeric sheath chemisorbed at the interface is unaffected by pH of the electrolyte and offers excellent protection in strongly acidic, neutral, and strongly alkaline atmospheres. A range of metal substrates comprising steel, galvanized steel, aluminized steel, stainless steel, aluminium alloys, etc. can be protected without resorting to grit blasting or any

chemical pre-treatments.

The polymeric nature of this coating confers extended pot life of the ternary composition facilitating simple large scale application. The product exhibits exceptional combination of mechanical, thermal, and anti-corrosive properties and is compatible with a variety of topcoats.

TOP COAT

These are designed to provide a chemical and weather resistant barrier when applied to DFT of 80 to 120 micrometres on METGUARD base coat(s). It also provides a longer pot life compared to other topcoats. The product is characterized by excellent bond strength, UV resistance, and resistance to a variety of chemicals acidic and alkaline alike. Complete METGUARD schemes offer excellent corrosion protection on nominally prepared substrates for new and existing structures completely eliminating blasting or chemical pre-treatments and are entirely free of toxic or polluting ingredients. These can withstand thermal duty up to 200°C. Adoption of such schemes can dramatically lower life cycle preservation costs of pre erected as well as newly fabricated metal structures.
